Authorities have not publicly described a possible motive or said whether the shooter knew anyone at the store. No information about the suspect's description was included in the reporting available at the time.
The shooting drew attention in part because of its timing, falling on Halloween, when such stores are typically busy. It was not immediately clear how many people were inside the store when the gunfire broke out.
KCRA's reporting did not say whether anyone had been taken into custody later in the day.
